Yet Another Solid Collaboration -Phyno & Olamide Over Delivers With ‘Onyeoma’

Two weeks ago, we made a list of the very best collaborators in Nigerian music today and, to absolutely no one’s surprise, Phyno and Olamide made the cut. At this point, it’s pretty much a given that whenever both stars come together, the outcome will be brilliant.

So, it shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone that they continue their seemingly endless run of solid collaborations with their latest offering, the infectious “Onyeoma”.

At its catchy core, “Onyeoma” is a thoughtful song about the universal and spiritual law of giving to receive. On a more superficial level, however, the song feels like it was designed to get rich old men at owambes to get up an spray people money.

On the spectrum of Phyno and Olamide collaborations, the Pheelz-produced highlife track is more “Fada Fada” than “Ghost Mode” — which means “Onyeoma” finds both rappers doing a lot more singing than rapping.

While Phyno tends to be the best in show whenever he teams up with Olamide, that’s not the case here: they are both evenly matched, and the song is much better for it. Be prepared to hear this song deservedly take over our airwaves in the coming months.
