Watch Banky W and Adesua Team Up On The ‘Whatchu Doing Tonight’ Remix
Last year, Banky W dropped a solid EP, Songs About You, which kinda came and went. However, the fact that people basically ignored it didn’t stop him from soldiering on, as over the year he’s dropped videos for some of the standout songs, such as “Made For You” and “Love You Baby”.
Now, he has brought the attention back to the EP, with a remix of one of the songs, “Whatchu Doing Tonight” featuring his wife, Adesua Etomi.
Banky W and Adesua are probably the most talked-about celebrity couple over here. Since they acted as a couple about to wed in Nollywood’s biggest movie, The Wedding Party, and later on announced their own real-life engagement, the public has become very invested in their relationship — and they’re clearly trying to get us even more interested by teaming up on this remix.
Banky W is one of the first musicians who made r&b cool in the music scene here. He’s known for being a lover boy, and his songs are always super affectionate. He’s also one of the few musicians who takes his music videos really seriously – just think “Yes/No” and “Made For You”. All of this feeds into this new video, with the added excitement of his wife making her singing debut on his song – so, not only are they huge on the Nollywood scene, they are also making moves together in the music scene!
On “Whatchu Doing Tonight”, Banky W serenades his Mrs, telling her to join him for a fun night. The song is typical of Banky W’s sound, where he sings “anytime you’re ready, baby sare wa”. Adesua lends her stunning voice to the track, but we think Banky W could have written her a much better verse.
Written and directed by Banky W himself, the accompanying video is super engaging and tells an intriguing story, so make sure you watch it until the end. Now, Banky W is a triple threat as he’s a singer-songwriter, actor and music video director, who is actually really good at all three!
