‘MTV Shuga’ Is Finally Back In Nigeria For A Sixth Season
MTV Shuga, the compelling progressive drama series, is coming back to our screens in Nigeria for a sixth season. Since its debut in 2009, the TV drama series has focused on the lives of young Africans, as they navigate through their adolescent years. The show aims to educate millennials on social issues like sexual etiquette, safe sex, HIV/AIDS and more, which are usually skirted around in our uptight and backwards-driven society.
Last year, MTV Shuga announced that the show will be returning to Nigeria for season six, and now a trailer released to confirm this. If you haven’t been following, we have a concise recap on the previous seasons. It’s really no surprise that the show is so popular, as MTV Shuga puts a spotlight on real life issues that affect young people and the challenges they face from day to day – with a particular focus on adolescent girls.
Season six will feature some of its former cast such as Sharon Ezeamaka, Timini Egbuson and Jemima Osunde and Olumide Oworu with a few new faces who look like they’re trouble. The teaser is missing notable cast members like Tiwa Savage, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Adesua Etomi and more, but I guess we’ll have to watch to find out whether they will return!
The series is set to return to our screens on March 6, and we can hardly wait! Check out the teaser right here:
