Watch Mr Eazi Shine In The Video For DJ Neptune’s ‘Mia Mia’
Before Mr Eazi released “Pour Me Water”, his first official single of 2017, he spent most of the year appearing on other people’s tracks — from Yungen’s “All Night” to Dotman’s “Afro Girl” — all with varying degrees of success.
One of his standout features, however, came much later in the year on DJ Neptune‘s “Mia Mia”, and it just got a colourful, motion graphics-heavy music video.
Like DJ Cuppy and DJ Consequence, DJ Neptune is one of the talented Nigerian DJs who’s branched out from spinning other people’s tracks into creating jams of their own. His last single “Why” brought out the best in Runtown and “Mia Mia” confidently continues that trend.
The original song also featured Angolan singer C4 Pedro, but he is noticeably absent from this version. The mid-tempo love song, which was excellently produced by Simba Tagz, gives Mr Eazi the chance to do his best work in a very long time, and he absolutely kills it.
“Why” and “Mia Mia” are the lead singles off DJ Neptune’s upcoming album, G.R.E.A.T.N.E.S.S, and if the rest of the project’s songs turn out to be as good as those two, then DJ Neptune would have created something truly outstanding.
