Regardless of how modern society tries to downplay the importance of marriage, it still ranks as the most important union on earth to a lot of people. Two people finding love in each other and coming together to solidify their love in holy matrimony is cherished and adored.
Our Nigerian celebrities are very much in love with the idea of marriage, and many of them have taken the bold step to say I do. With different personalities, they found love in different places. While some found love in fellow Nigerians, others got swept off their feet by foreigners who took them to the altar.
Here are five Nigerians who got married to foreigners
Ufuoma Ejenebor McDermott
Model turned Nollywood Actress Ufuoma Ejenebor who hails from Delta State Nigeria dealt Nigerian men a huge blow when she got married to her foreign sweetheart Steven McDermott. The screen diva who has had great successes in the Nigerian box office starring in movies like Wives on Strike, The Women and Okafor’s Law amongst others got married in 2010, and they have two children together.
Uche Jombo Rodriguez
op Nollywood Actress Uche Jombo is among Nigerian female celebrities who left all the men in Nigeria to marry a foreigner. The Actress and Producer who is an indigene of Abia State Nigeria found love in American born Kenner Rodriguez. And in 2012, the two walked down the aisle in a “secret” destination wedding in Puerto Rico. Nigerians received the news of their wedding with mixed reactions as it was all over major news outlets. The couple have a son together.
Oluchi Onweagba Orlandi
Nigerian Super Model Oluchi Onweagba has left a mark in the modelling world across the world. After winning the Nokia Face of Africa pageant in 1998, the beautiful diva went on to work with some of the most renowned designers in the world. Appearing on the covers of some of the biggest fashion magazines and working some of the biggest runways, it came as no surprise that she got married to her designer Italian husband Luca Orlandi in 2006. Their union is blessed with a son.
IK Ogbonna
Nollywood fine boy IK Ogbonna who is very much Nigerian as he hails from Abia State broke a lot of hearts when, out of the blues, he presented a foreigner from Columbia as his wife in 2015. It all seemed like a joke to the heart broken females until they saw pictures. And like they say, pictures don’t lie. The couple got married in faraway Belgrade Serbia, and have a child together.

Nollywood Actress Susan Peters is happily married, but her sweetheart isn’t a Nigerian. Entertaining the audience with great performances in movies, not many saw it coming when she tied the nuts with her Dutch man Koen Croon in 2015. Susan who hasn’t been very visible in movies and the social scene in recent times is still very much married to her husband.
