Listen To Yemi Alade’s Two New Singles – Featuring Falz
Yemi Alade‘s third studio album, Black Magic, was meant to have dropped last month, but we never got it. Instead, all we got was the music video for “Nakupenda”, a song off her Mama Afrique EP.
Well, it seems Yemi Alade is finally back on track with the release of two brand new singles off Black Magic, “Single & Searching” featuring Falz and “Heart Robber”.
“Single & Searching” is the third collaboration between Yemi and Falz. It feels like the sequel to their 2014 hit, “Marry You”, but unlike that song, which found the woman desperate to get married, “Single & Searching” switches the script; this time with the man desperate for a relationship.
The mid-tempo “Heart Robber” is a classic Yemi Alade love song. With cheesy lyrics like “na you be the dodo on top my rice and stew” and “sit back, let me wash you like shampoo”, Yemi Alade continues to prove no one does mushy quite like her.
With “Knack Am”, “Single & Searching” and “Heart Robber”, it’s safe to assume that Black Magic won’t be that different from what we’ve gotten from Yemi Alade in the past – which, all things considered, isn’t necessarily such a bad thing.
