There are some events that everybody look forward to in Nigeria and wedding is one of those events. Nigerians don’t joke with weddings as some see it as a competition so they obviously go for it all. While for some, it is just like any other event but one thing is certain with weddings in Nigeria,  it takes a whole lot to plan and prepare for either one’s traditional marriage or what we call “the white wedding”.

In all, the wedding dress is most paramount issue of all the preparations. Aso oke is one of the special attire worn during weddings, especially for the traditional wedding. This attire that was commonly found among the Yoruba’s of the Western Nigeria, has been embraced by other tribes during such events.

Aso Oke  has evolved overtime from the conventional aso oke to the bejeweled and the embellished ones to the striped and so many more. 2016 was a year we saw different beautiful aso oke attires and of course colour combinations on social media platforms especially Instagram.
