Four months ago, we reported that British-Nigerian actor, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be making his directorial debut with the semi-autobiographical film, Farming, which will star Kate Beckinsale, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and British-Nigerian actor Damson Idris.
The film will follow Adewale, who is sent to the UK by his parents in the hope of giving him a better life. Instead, he becomes the leader of a white skinhead gang in 1980s England. When all seems lost and he spirals into self-destruction, a benevolent teacher offers him one last chance at redemption.
Kate Beckinsale (Underworld) has been cast to play Adewale’s abusive, neglectful foster mother; Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Black Mirror) is playing the teacher who helps him turn his life around, and Damson Idris, the star of FX’s Snowfall, will play a young Adewale.
Well, it turns out veteran Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji (Road To Yesterday) has also joined the cast of the coming-of-age drama. While her role is still undisclosed, she recently shared pictures of herself on set in her trailer. Now, we are even more hyped to see this film.
