5 Nigerian Women Make It To The 2017 Most Influential Young Africans List

Toke Makinwa, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Uche Pedro, Toyosi Akerele and Victoria Ibiwoye have been listed in the 2017 Most Influential Young Africans List.

Organised by the Africa Youth Awards, the list is said to be an initiative created to acknowledge young achievers across the African continent.

It is reportedly also the biggest and most respected across the continent with participation from over 140 countries globally.

TOKE MAKINWA

She moved from a banking job to a media job and has recorded huge success. Her book, “On Becoming,” got her several endorsements with  different companies, which earned her millions of naira.

MERCY JOHNSON-OKOJIE

Despite her humble beginnings, she worked her way to the top to become one of the outstanding Nollywood celebrities.

UCHE PEDRO

The founder of Bellanaija, Uche has been featured on Oprah Winfrey show, alongside international stars like Jessica Simpson and Lisa Ling.  She was also interviewed by Isha Sesay for CNN i-list in September, 2010.

TOYOSI AKERELE

Toyosi is the founder of RISE NETWORKS, a social enterprise involved in technology and is focused on youth and education development across Africa.

VICTORIA IBIWOYE

is the Director of OneAfricanChild Foundation for Creative Learning and the Youth Representative to the United Nations SDG-Education 2030 Steering Committee.

Her organisation helps to build the capability of poor community children and youth on Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship Education.
