Watch Jidenna Skilfully Perform 3 Of The Best Songs From His Debut Album

NPR’s intimate ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ series has seen a number of acclaimed singers and rappers – from Adele and Sampha to Common and Run The Jewels – have full-on jam sessions in a tiny, cluttered office.

The latest artiste to join this prestigious list is Nigerian-American singer and rapper, Jidenna, who dropped by NPR to perform three reworked versions of the best songs from his brilliant debut album, The Chief.

Jidenna and his band kicked off the unconventional concert with a jazzed-out version of his surprisingly respectful twerk anthem “Trampoline” before picking up the tempo with an upbeat rendition of the addictive “Long Live The Chief”.

They then rounded it all off with the best song – and the strongest performance – of the three, Jidenna’s hypnotic ode to lost love, “Bambi”. He manages to do all this while sipping cognac and singing into a toy microphone – now if that ain’t talent, we don’t know what is.
