The Animated Short Film ‘Dawn Of Thunder’ Follows The Life Of Sango
Proof of concept films are short films (or extended trailers) developed on a relatively small budget that are created to show studios what that production team is capable of.
Movies like Sin City, District 9, Dear White People and 300 would never have been made if their proof of concept films didn’t go on to wow studio execs. This is what Komotion Studios hopes to achieve with their animated proof of concept, Dawn Of Thunder.
With the intention of eventually turning it into a web series or a feature length movie, Dawn Of Thunder explores Sango’s childhood – where it all started, the questions he asked, the answers he was given, visions about his path and how these experiences shaped his future
About what we can expect from a web series or movie, the studio said:
“[It] will look at his life from birth to his mysterious disappearance. We will explore the functionality of the civilization that existed during his time, bringing out different key lessons.
Our goal is to educate and align with the sustainable development goals while also entertaining our audience.”
The impressive proof of concept film was created in only two months on a tiny budget of $400 (₦146,000). Let’s hope we get to see a full series or at least a feature film sometime in the future.
