Watch The Music Video For Tekno’s New Self-Produced Single, ‘Go’
Two years ago, Tekno scored his first breakout hit with the infectious “Duro” – but it wasn’t until a year later that he became a veritable superstar with the release of “Pana”, the best Nigerian song of 2016.
Since then, fans have been asking – no, begging – him to release his debut album, but all we’ve been getting are singles after singles; each one considerably less impressive than the last. And his newest self-produced track, “Go”, while still a jam, might be his weakest effort yet.

Although “Go” isn’t a bad song by today’s lax afropop standards, when it’s coming from someone as talented as Tekno, it might as well be. All we hope is that none of his post-“Rara” tracks actually show up on his debut album because that would be a serious letdown.

The music video for “Go” doesn’t do the song any favours either. Directed by Patrick Elis (the man responsible for Wale’s “Fine Girl” disaster), the video lazily crams in every possible cliche into its 4-minute runtime: from luxury cars to scantily-clad models.
