Niniola signs publishing deal with US music company
Singer Niniola Apata has signed a publishing deal with US music services company, Kobalt Music Group.
According to Niniola’s management, Kobalt “made an offer to sign the Nigerian queen of Afro-house. Terms were met and a deal was done”.
The singer will be engaged as a songwriter to churn out material for international artistes on its roster.
“Niniola continues to soar as she adds yet another feather to her hat,” said a statement by her management.
“Niniola recently just signed a publishing deal with one of the world’s topmost music publishers Kobalt Music Group, a deal that will also see her engaged as a songwriter.
“Kobalt Music Group a company which currently handles 40% of the top 100 songs and albums in the U.S. and U.K, and also has a roster with the likes of 50 Cent, Ed Sheeran, Elvis Presley, Gwen Stefani, Calvin Harris, Lauryn Hill etc.”
In 2000, Willard Ahdritz founded Kobalt in a bid “to give artists, songwriters, musicians, labels and publishers the freedom and transparency they needed to build their careers”.
“Couldn’t be happier to welcome the incredible @officialniniola to the Kobalt,” said a statement posted on Instagram by the music services company.
Niniola rose to fame in 2013 after finishing third runner-up on the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa.
