Watch Yemi Alade Perform ‘Charliee’ On BBC Radio 1Xtra

A month ago, Mr Eazi left us all feeling more than a little disappointed when he appeared on BBC Radio’s 1Xtra Live Lounge to perform three of his biggest songs and couldn’t muster up enough stage presence to keep us interested.

Well, if there’s one thing Yemi Alade has in abundance, it’s stage presence; which explains why her recently released live performance on BBC Radio 1Xtra is completely engaging.

Currently on her Mama Africa World Tour, Yemi stopped by the renowned Maida Vale Studios to perform her three-month-old single, “Charliee”, for BBC Radio 1Xtra’s DJ Edu.

 

While Yemi Alade typically gets a lot of slack for her lyrics, her vocal abilities have never been in question. And even though “Charliee” isn’t one of her more acclaimed songs, her stunning voice and energetic presence are more than enough to keep you interested.
