Nigeria’s Dr. Ozak Esu Named One Of The Top Female UK Engineers Under 35

Every year, The Daily Telegraph, backed by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES), releases their list of  ‘Top 50 Women Under 35 In Engineering‘ to celebrate the notable achievements made by women in the sector

From a list of over 500 nominees based in the UK, 50 brilliant women were chosen and Nigeria’s very own Dr. Ozak Esu was one of them.

Inspired by Nigeria’s energy problem, Dr. Esu left for the UK in 2008 to study Electronic and Electrical Engineering. She completed her Ph.D. in 2015, and currently works at Cundall, one of the top engineering consultancy companies in the UK.

Speaking with her company about what it felt like to make the list, Dr. Esu said:

“I am sincerely honoured to make this list of truly inspirational engineers shaping our modern-day society.

Without seeming dismissive of my hard work, and passion for sustainable engineering development; my contributions to engineering are possible due to the tremendous support I continue to receive.”

Currently working to become a chartered engineer and serving as a guest lecturer at the University of Bath, Dr. Esu managed to find the time to also complete an award-winning project recognized for innovation and energy use. And she shows no signs of slowing down.
