MEET Zakiya “Z” Randall, the first and youngest African American female in history to win first place in the LPGA Women’s U.S. Open Qualifier.
The 26-year-old, who started playing golf aged 10, says she was inspired to become a pro-golfer after watching Tiger Woods and young female phenoms like Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel in action.
At 17, she became the first woman in Georgia to win the Golf Channel Am Tour, where she defeated some of the best male amateur golfers on the field.
Between making history and breaking records, Zakiya is also a humanitarian and public speaker.
She told Impulse Magazine’s Meko Cox that her mom is “my true idol and inspiration,” with Oprah being second and Michael Jordan third.
